Our Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility
At Parkdean Resorts we recognise our responsibility in ensuring sound social and environmental practices in our own on-park operations and in our supply chain.
This means moving to working with the right suppliers who not only meet our quality standards but also those who share our values and source their products responsibly according to the standards we set, which include upholding human rights, food safety, ethical sourcing, animal welfare and environmental standards.
We have already taken steps to make changes where doing so would have beneficial impact but we also know that there is more we can do and we will continue to make improvements.
We work to continually improve our food and beverage offering to our customers. While there are elements of our supply chain that, due to their nature, are fragmented, we take the initiative where we can and respond to issues which arise.
All of our shell eggs are sourced from free-range sources and we now only purchase mayonnaise made with free-range eggs. We are currently working on the status of eggs used more widely within our supply chain with a commitment to maximise the use of cage-free / free range eggs by 2023.
We use Red Tractor certified meat for all of the fresh beef burgers and sausages we use. Red Tractor is the UK’s largest farm and food standards scheme, covering the welfare of animals, food safety, traceability and environmental protection.
All fish we use is sourced from Marine Stewardship Council certified sustainable fisheries.
We use vegetable oil in all our restaurants and we are actively looking at ways to reduce our use of palm oil while maintaining the freshness and quality of our fish and chips in our outlets.
One of our major coffee suppliers has worked with the Rainforest Alliance since 2008 and today all the coffee beans sourced for their drinks come from Rainforest Alliance certified farms. We are working towards increasing the proportion of Rainforest Alliance coffee we use.
We work with suppliers who are striving to reduce sugar across their range of drinks. The work they are doing allows us to provide our customers with healthier alternatives.
Ethical Trading Initiative
The Ethical Trading Initiative is a leading alliance of companies, trade unions and non-governmental organisations which promotes respect for workers' rights around the globe.
By the end of 2019 we are targeting to have 75% of our suppliers signed-up to the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code.
All of our parks have a gluten free menu and can provide the following allergen information relating to the products we serve:
