When you consider that Britain is home to National Trust gardens, the Chelsea Flower Show and, who could forget, Alan Titchmarsh, it’s no surprise that there are so many beautiful gardens waiting for you to explore.
We’ve rounded up six of the most stunning outdoor spectacles that are within driving distance of some of our own holiday parks. Get out there and explore.
Eden Project, Cornwall
With its own music, events, and over 1000 varieties of plant all sitting underneath one massive roof, the Eden Project is one of the most stunning examples of nature in the world.
Walk through the world’s largest indoor rainforest, discover a beautiful array of flora, and open up all your senses in this incredible, unforgettable atmosphere.
Ventnor Botanic Garden, Isle of Wight
On the coast of the Isle of Wight, Ventnor Botanic Garden is home to some incredible history and some even more inspirational plants. The warmer temperatures here make it the perfect spot for tropical species to thrive, giving you a glimpse of plants you’d normally only see in the depths of the jungle.
Beautifully maintained by the Ventnor Botanic Garden friends society, there’s even a secret underground network of tunnels to explore making this a truly incredible day out.

The Beth Chatto Gardens, Essex
Once an overgrown wasteland, The Beth Chatto Gardens were turned into a beautiful example of modern ecology in the 1960s, and now offer guests the chance to explore a thriving floral hotspot in the heart of Essex.
The plants grown here are all native to the area, showing just what is possible with some good knowledge and lots of hard work. With a water garden, a reservoir, woodland and more, there’s plenty to discover on this magical day out.

The Alnwick Garden, Northumberland
One of Northumberland’s most popular attractions, The Alnwick Gardenis home to a staggering array of plants and water features, including the deadly poisonous plants garden and a far less threatening giant treehouse.
Spring is the perfect time to see the garden in its full splendour, and with children under four getting in free, it’s a perfectly picturesque family day out.

Only a 30 minute drive from Cresswell Towers Holiday Park, The Alnwick Garden could be a cherry on the cake for your trip to Northumberland.
Trebah Garden, Cornwall
Just across the bay from Falmouth, Trebah Garden is a subtropical paradise on Cornwall’s Lizard Peninsula. The garden is steeped in history, dating back as far as the 11th century, and has its own private beach that offers staggering views of the Cornish coast.
It’s even dog friendly, making it an idyllic day out for those of us on two legs and four.

National Botanic Garden of Wales, Carmarthenshire
A true botanical utopia, The National Botanic Garden of Walesis a sight to behold. With a huge greenhouse hosting a breathtaking array of tropical plants, and over 8000 different species to discover, no trip to Wales would be complete without a visit here.
Dogs are allowed in every Monday and Friday, letting them get a good sniff of everything on offer.
