As well as stunning landscapes, Scotland is also home to a variety of dog-friendly pubs that make a great place for you and your four-legged friend to relax after a day of exploring.
Here at Parkdean Resorts, we’ve put together our favourite dog-friendly pubs in Scotland, which are definitely worth a visit.
The Dornoch Inn, Dornoch
Located on the edge of the Dornoch Firth, the charming town of Dornoch is an ideal getaway for you and your furry friend. Bursting with history and filled with beautiful beaches, there are plenty of places for you and your pooch to explore.
If you’re looking for a place to rest and enjoy some good food, then the Dornoch Inn is a must. Welcoming both you and your dog, the pub overlooks the town centre, with beautiful views of the cathedral and castle. Just 10 minutes from Grannie’s Heilan’ Hame Holiday Park, here you can enjoy some tasty food all day long, including a carvery on Sundays, as well as regular live music events. There’s even a takeaway service if you fancy packing up your food for a picnic.
If you want to burn off the pub grub, then Dornoch Beach is the place to go. Just a short walk from the Dornoch Inn you’ll find miles of golden sands and shallow waters, offering a great place for your dog to cool down. The beach is accessible and dog friendly all year round too, so whether you fancy a crisp winter’s walk or a summer’s day on the sand, it’s a fantastic place to visit.

The Three Reasons, North Ayrshire
Largs, in North Ayrshire, is a charming Scottish seaside resort, with ice cream parlours, shops and historic sites to explore. From castles to beautiful countryside, there’s lots for you and your dog to enjoy.
Just 15 minutes from Wemyss Bay Holiday Park is the Three Reasons, a family-run, dog friendly pub that serves real ale and traditional pub grub. Located on the seafront of Largs, you’re guaranteed a spectacular view. The Three Reasons is renowned for good drinks, good food and good times, so you and your dog are sure to feel welcome and looked after.
After some delicious food, there’s plenty to see in this picturesque town. Walk off your meal with a stroll to Largs’ most famous monument, the Pencil. Built in 1912, the monument sits at the south end of the Prom, where you can learn all about the Battle of Largs surrounded by breath-taking views. For a historic dog walk, just under 10 minutes from the Three Reasons you’ll find Kelburn Castle, the oldest castle in Scotland. Built in 1200, there’s plenty to explore. Discover over 3500 acres of Scotland’s most beautiful woodlands, filled with waterfalls, gorges and lots of wildlife.

The Havelock, Nairn
Nairn is said to be one of the sunniest places in Scotland, so you’re sure to find plenty of outdoor activities for you and your four-legged friend to enjoy. Soak up the history of this fantastic seaside town, whilst your pup enjoys the sandy beaches, riverside walks and the exciting promenade.
If you’re staying at Nairn Lochloy Holiday Park, then just 10 minutes away you’ll find the Havelock, the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of exploring. With spectacular views overlooking the Moray Firth, take a seat in the lovely beer garden and enjoy a well-deserved rest. From Saturday Steak Nights to homemade stone-baked pizzas, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
After some refreshments visit Fort George, only a 20 minute drive from the Havelock. The Fort is a registered historic monument that was built over 250 years ago and is still in military use today. This 18th century fortress is over 1km in length, so there’s plenty for you and your dog to discover.

The Hollybush Inn, Ayrshire
Located on the West Coast of Scotland, the historic county of Ayrshire offers everything that you and your dog could possibly want. With long sandy beaches, miles of picturesque countryside and over 40 castles to explore, it’s the perfect destination for dog owners.
The popular seaside resort of Ayr in South Ayrshire is home to the Hollybush Inn, who welcome dogs into the bar and provide them with water bowls on arrival. Just 15 minutes from Sundrum Castle Holiday Park, this pub is a real hidden gem – tucked away in the beautiful countryside. Here, you can try some delicious local produce, along with some locally brewed ale.
After visiting the pub for some lunch, head out for some fresh air in the beautiful Bellahouston Park, just over 30 minutes away. With open fields and woodlands, it’s a great place for your dog to have a run around. Discover multiple gardens, wonderful sculptures and an Alice in Wonderland themed maze.
