Kickstarting His Way Into a Career in Administration

Meet Adam Lee, the very 1st person to join the Parkdean Resorts family through the Kickstart scheme back in June 2021. At 23 years old, Adam is big on family and loves going on camping trips and taking the dogs out for walks. Adam lives at his family home but says he is determined to save up for his own place with his partner, especially since he is the last of his siblings to leave. It is this life goal, Adam says, that drove him to look for more solid work that offered opportunities to progress and develop. After working in a number of entry level positions previously and having had a few months out of work, Adam was really happy to be offered Guest Experience Trainee at Crimdon Dene Holiday Park, as he believed it presented something ‘entirely different.’

Upon joining the amazing team at Crimdon Dene, Adam quickly learnt about the buzz of the hospitality industry and what it means to work on a holiday park. Describing himself as ‘slightly introverted’, Adam talks about how he was quickly asked to take on the role as Host in the food and beverage team and therefore ‘had to adapt to a very people orientated position’ but that this ‘allowed him to develop his people skills. My confidence grew, and I quickly started to love working on the bar and interacting with the guests and owners.’

6 months later and Adam has excelled in his role. So much so that he was offered a permanent established position as Administration Assistant in late 2021 and has now even become our very first Kickstart Ambassador. Adam says, ‘I thought Kickstart was going to last 6 months but I’m over the moon to be offered something permanent. I’ve had a lot of jobs where you feel like you’re not appreciated, but the recognition here is amazing and you feel good about what you’re doing.’
