Parkdean Resorts recently welcomed local MP Tim Farron to Fallbarrow Holiday Park in the Lake District.
Always very supportive of local businesses, the park team discussed with Tim the reliance of the Lake District’s economy on tourism, as over 80% of working age people in its constituency work in hospitality and leisure roles.
Hosting the visit was Fallbarrow's General Manager, Shauna Foy. A Lake District local, Shauna has grown up watching tourism shape her local community and she was understandably keen to discuss with Tim the recruitment challenges faced by hospitality businesses in the Lake District, and how Parkdean Resorts and the local community can work together to shape a solution.
As the UK's largest holiday park operator, Parkdean Resorts has given a boost for tourism in the Lake District with a significant investment for its parks in the region. The spend of £700,000 was used to install and upgrade accommodation, and refurbish dining areas across its four parks in the region.
