Medieval Easter Weekend, Dover Castle, Kent
If you’re staying at St Margaret’s Bay Holiday Park this Easter, you’ll find the spectacular ramparts of historic Dover Castle less than 10 minutes away. The castle is home to over 1000 years of history – with the site’s defensive position first being recognised by Iron Age settlers. It wasn’t until the 1180s that King Henry II set out to build the impressive castle that stands today.
Well worth a visit at any time of year, young and old alike will find plenty of fascinating treasures and exhibits within its walls. However, if you’re visiting this Easter, you’re in for an extra special treat. Taking place between Friday 30th March and Monday 2nd of April, the castle will open its doors for a medieval themed Easter weekend. Little ones will be captivated as they travel back in time to the days of knights and princesses. Watch in awe as the story of George and the Dragon is brought to life on horseback. As well as live re-enactments, you’ll also get to enjoy medieval tales and storytelling, and even fire eating jesters to keep the crowds entertained!

Easter Eggstravaganza, The BIG Sheep, Devon
Heading to North Devon this Easter? A trip to The BIG Sheep is a must - just 10 minutes from Bideford Bay Holiday Park, The BIG Sheep is one of Devon’s biggest all weather family attractions – with rides, slides and animal encounters to keep everyone entertained.
Visit between Friday 30th March and Sunday 15th April and you’ll get the chance to hunt for over 30,000 chocolate Easter eggs, hidden across the park. Grown-ups and little ones alike will love meeting the new-born lambs, fluffy bunnies and freshly hatched chicks, you might even get to see kid goats and adorable piglets if you’re lucky. Why not join in and try your hand at bottle feeding one of the lambs? With feeds running twice daily, you’re guaranteed a cute family photo opportunity.

Hunting for Shark Eggs, Cresswell, Northumberland
If you’re looking for Easter activities with a difference, The Northumberland Wildlife Trust has just the ticket. On Saturday 31st of March, they’re organising a totally unique Easter egg hunt, searching the Northumberland coast for shark egg cases and fascinating marine life. You and your little ones will get the chance to gain amazing insight into local wildlife and learn all about the sharks and rays native to Northumberland’s coast.
Starting just a short stroll from Cresswell Towers Holiday Park on Cresswell Foreshore, it’s the perfect excuse for a family day out on your Easter break. And when you’re finished hunting for shark eggs, why not keep walking along the soft golden sands to Druridge Bay Country Park, where you’ll be able to continue the nature trail around the park’s protected reserves, home to swans and rare migratory birds.

Plant Hunter Expedition, Dyffryn Gardens, South Wales
Green fingered mums and dads will love a day out at Dyffryn Gardens this Easter. Just 30 minutes’ drive from Trecco Bay Holiday Park on the beautiful South Wales Coast, Dyffryn Gardens offers a peaceful escape where you can explore stunning Edwardian formal and informal gardens in the grounds of Dyffryn House – one of the National Trust’s most spectacular properties in the region. It’s the ideal place to get into the Easter spirt and get a taste of things to come as the garden’s floral displays come into bloom, with bursts of colour and greenery around every corner.
There’s plenty on offer for the kids too, with the garden’s annual Easter egg hunt running from Friday 30th March to Monday 2nd April.
