Visit Bude

Blessed with a bevy of golden sand beaches, Bude provides an impressive first welcome to visitors arriving into Cornwall.

The town is often ranked among the nation’s top coastal resorts, with the long, fine stretches of sand at Summerleaze Beach and Widemouth Bay offering families the chance to enjoy sandcastle building, paddling and games in utterly unspoilt surroundings.

Lapped by a mixture of mild and powerful waves, the beaches here are a prime destination for surfers of all abilities. If you’d rather not brave the waves, however, you can easily take a gentle dip in Summerleaze’s huge tidal sea pool.

Bude itself is a lovely, traditional seaside town, with a calmer vibe than other spots on the coast.
