About Clovelly

Renowned for its unfeasibly steep cobbled high street, and the white-washed cottages that wind down it, this small fishing port packs plenty of character. Dating back to the 15th century, the well-preserved harbourside village remains fiercely uncommercialised, with no traffic allowed; which lends the historic spot an authentic, unhurried feel.

As you stroll downhill you’ll pass restaurants, tea rooms and independent shops and have the chance to meet the famous Clovelly donkeys, which once transported goods around the village! The curved harbour at the bottom is picture-postcard pretty, with its shingle beach and small boats. The walk down can be tricky though, so take practical shoes!

If the kids still have energy to burn, visit the Milky Way Adventure Park nearby. From heart-racing rollercoasters to a miniature railway and giant indoor soft play, there are adventures here for every age group.
