Surfing at Croyde Bay
Catch the waves at Ruda
Ruda Holiday Park sits just moments away from the stunning Croyde Bay beach, meaning that during your stay at Ruda you’ll have one of Britain’s finest surfing beaches practically on your doorstep. Take advantage by hitting those waves, taking a surfing lesson, or coming along for one of the world famous events.Three-Sixty magazine's Bodyboard Manual says:
"Croyde works on all tides but is best at low tide when it gets hollow. High tide produces a long, peeling wave. Works on winds from SE-NE and a southerly swell.
The reef at Croyde works on a biggish swell and the bowl section is pretty intense. Beginners should avoid surfing or bodyboarding at low tide as rip currents can occur."
