Parkdean Resorts is spreading Christmas cheer this holiday season hosting 80 Ukrainian refugee children at Trecco Bay Holiday Park in Porthcawl, through its new partnership with sports charity, The Change Foundation which uses sports and activities to support marginalised and vulnerable young people in the UK and overseas.

Our Ukrainian guests immersed themselves in the festive fun at the park’s annual Winter Wonderland during their three-night stay, enjoying ice skating, a festive pool party, reindeer feeding, and much more.

This Christmas break was the 30th event The Change Foundation has provided for Ukrainian refugee children. Since March 2022, the charity has provided safe play zone sports camps for children evacuated to Poland and delivered a series of sports camps in Sussex for Ukrainian refugee children in the UK.

Steve Richards, CEO, Parkdean Resorts, said: “Creating amazing memories is at the heart of our mission at Parkdean Resorts, and we’re delighted to partner with The Change Foundation to extend the magic of the season to those who need it most. We’re delighted to host these very special Ukrainian children at Trecco Bay and help put a smile on their faces this Christamas”

Dean Lamb, Senior Coach Mentor at The Change Foundation, said: "We are so grateful to Parkdean Resorts for generously providing Trecco Bay as the venue for our weekend away. The families had the most magical time at Winter Wonderland meeting new friends, learning new skills, and making memories. These getaways are so important for giving these vulnerable children and young people a space to feel valued, connected to the community, and able to have fun and be children again.”
