Parkdean Resorts, the UK’s leading holiday park operator, has released its second ESG report. The report outlines the progress the business is making on its plans to care for its parks, people, and planet.

From climate change and carbon, to spaces for nature and having sustainable relationships with its local communities, the company’s ESG plans are intentionally all-encompassing, making Parkdean Resorts one of the few companies in the UK hospitality, travel and tourism sectors that aligns to every one of the 17 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, reflecting the scope of the company’s impact.

The most significant achievements include:

  • Reducing carbon emissions by 20% vs 2019
  • Diverting 80% of waste away from landfill
  • Fundraising over £75,000 for The Prince's Trust
  • 100% of our parks signing up to the David Bellamy Pledge for Nature
  • 59 parks participating in the Big Parkdean Clean, collecting 622kg of litter

Commenting on the publication of the report, Steve Richards, CEO of Parkdean Resorts, said: “At Parkdean Resorts, Environmental, Social, and Governance principles are integral aspects of our identity. Caring for our parks, people and planet is what we do, shaping our actions and decisions every day.

With stewardship over 3,500 acres of land across the UK, our commitment to sustainability is evident in the way we look after our natural assets and manage our resources. We diligently care for beaches, forests, and headlands, maintaining and preserving these natural treasures for future generations.

As a business, we ensure that our operations contribute positively to the areas we serve. We’re delighted to provide thousands of employment opportunities and support the local communities in which we operate. I am proud of our team members and their inherent, natural passion for our parks.

The first iteration of our ESG strategy back in 2021 saw us make 25 commitments across eight priority areas. We’re now two years into our ESG journey and we recognise we can’t do everything, so we are currently reviewing our priorities in order to focus on where we can make the most impact.

By embedding ESG principles into our core operations, and by passionately caring for our parks, people and planet, we aim to foster a sustainable future for all.”
