Caring for our people and communities

At Parkdean Resorts, people are at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s supporting our team, uplifting local communities, or giving back to those who need it most, we are a business that cares, with care even being one of our core values.

We believe that when our people feel valued, included, and supported, they thrive - and so does our business. We’re committed to creating a workplace and culture that makes a positive impact far beyond our parks.

Careers

At the heart of our business is a deep commitment to supporting the communities we serve. With 73% of our people living within a 10-mile radius of their workplace, we’re proud to be a local employer that invests in local talent. By creating opportunities close to home, we help strengthen community ties and contribute to regional growth, making a meaningful difference where it matters most.

We’re equally passionate about helping our people grow their careers with us. Internal progression is a cornerstone of our culture, with 50% of our team receiving promotions in the past year alone. 80% of our senior management roles have been filled by internal candidates, reflecting our belief in nurturing potential and recognising performance. Our people value this approach, evidenced by our strong Glassdoor rating of 4 which is a clear sign that our people feel valued, supported, and proud to be part of our organisation.

Inclusion

At Parkdean Resorts, we strive to make everyone feel welcome, valued and included. We’re dedicated to creating a friendly and fun atmosphere, both within our teams and with our guests. When we all feel like we belong, we work better together and provide the best experiences for our guests.

We champion diversity and have a strong focus on developing female talent. This year we have launched a programme in partnership with WiHTL & Diversity in Retail, where 20 of our female leaders from across the business are taking part in a series of bespoke workshops to unlock their  potential. This aims to help them become the next generation of confident, capable leaders and helps us to build a stronger, more diverse talent pipeline.

Wellbeing

We’re proud to foster a culture where wellbeing truly matters. From mental health to physical fitness, we’re committed to creating supportive, healthy environments where our people can thrive - at work and beyond.

Mental health is a priority, and we’ve trained 130 team members across the business to become qualified Mental Health First Aiders. Our network of wellbeing champions based in our parks and Central Support also offer peer-to-peer support and receive ongoing training to build confidence and deepen their knowledge in supporting mental wellbeing.

We run a variety of physical health initiatives including a step challenge to encourage movement and we also work with the British Heart Foundation to offer heart health checks for our team members. The sessions assess blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, and BMI, while providing instant advice and guidance on accessing further support via our company health platform.

We work with external experts to offer support and deliver specialist webinars, including sessions from Menopause Matters and men’s mental health charities, ensuring our teams have access to professional advice tailored to their needs.

Thanks to these efforts, we’ve achieved an outstanding 91% wellbeing score, proof that our people feel supported, empowered and cared for.

Charity

We’re proud to support causes that make a real difference to families across the UK. Our corporate charity partner, Make-A-Wish UK, grants life-changing wishes to children living with critical illnesses. We support Make-A-Wish not only because of the amazing work they do, but because we share the common goal of helping families create cherished and happy memories. We’re honoured to contribute to their mission - not only through fundraising initiatives, but by donating up to £50,000 worth of holidays each year to children and families who need it most.

We also stand firmly behind the Armed Forces community, donating holidays to deserving military families through partnerships with the Army Central Fund, Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund. These breaks offer vital respite and recognition for those who serve. Since 2021, we’ve donated over £450,000 worth of holidays to armed forces families.

Our team also gets hands-on with fundraising and most recently, 40 team members from across our parks and departments took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, raising over £3,000 for Walking With The Wounded. We’re proud to come together to support those who serve and those most in need.
