Parkdean Resorts, the UK's leading holiday park operator, recently welcomed Sir Alan Campbell, MP for Tynemouth, to Whitley Bay Holiday Park.

The team gave Sir Alan a tour of the facilities at the park, and discussed how Parkdean Resorts is committed to caring for its Parks, People, and Planet to create a positive environmental impact on nature and resources.

Whitley Bay in Northumberland employs 95 people during the peak season and welcomed more than 30,000 visitors last year. The park received a cash injection of almost £250,000 in 2022 which went towards accommodation and facilities upgrades, improving the guest experience and ensuring holidaymakers keep coming back to the greater Northumberland area year after year, spending money in local shops, attractions, pubs and restaurants, and supporting the communities that rely so heavily on tourism.

Whitley Bay Holiday Park recently received positive feedback in the 2023 Parkdean Resorts People Engagement Survey, with 100% of its employees agreeing with the statements 'We are encouraged to be innovative even though some of our initiatives may not succeed', and 'Other departments at Parkdean Resorts collaborate well with us to get the job done', delivering a ringing endorsement for management at the park.

Last year, Parkdean Resorts launched 25 environmental, social and governance commitments which it will achieve by 2025, including reducing CO2 by 25%, a 75% reduction in waste to landfill, and the publication of an annual report detailing how it will care for its Parks, People and Planet.
