Parkdean Resorts, the UK’s leading holiday park operator, recently welcomed MP for Clwyd North, Gill German, to Ty Mawr Holiday Park to discuss the role tourism plays in supporting local jobs, investment and economic growth.

During the visit, Ms German toured the park’s facilities and met with members of the team to learn more about Parkdean Resorts’ commitment to investing in local communities and tourism infrastructure in Wales.

Ty Mawr Holiday Park is one of five parks in Wales owned by Parkdean Resorts, alongside Brynowen, Carmarthen Bay, Pendine Sands, and Trecco Bay Holiday Parks - one of the largest holiday parks in Europe. Collectively, the parks employ more than 1,000 people and welcome around 250,000 guests annually to the region, helping to generate economic benefits for local businesses across the area.

As part of its continued commitment, Ty Mawr is regularly improving facilities and guest experience, with investments totalling almost £7 million since 2020. This has gone primarily towards spacing improvements, new pitch developments, and retail investments, ensuring holidaymakers keep coming back to the area year after year, and supporting businesses that rely on tourism, including shops, attractions, pubs and restaurants.

Gill German, MP for Clwyd North, said: “I was delighted to visit Ty Mawr Holiday Park and speak with holidaymakers and the Parkdean Resorts Management team. I know from my work with DWP and the local Jobcentre, that Parkdean Resorts offer sustainable employment to local people and have a strong career progression structure which I was pleased to discuss during my visit.

Good jobs and apprenticeships that lead to long term careers in hospitality are so important. Coastal towns have always relied on excellent tourist attractions to keep people coming back year after year and Ty Mawr Holiday Park plays a very important part in that tradition.”

The visit comes as Ty Mawr Holiday Park receives national recognition for its guest experience. The park was recently named a recipient of Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards 2026, placing it among the top 10% of businesses that consistently earn positive reviews. As the world’s largest travel guidance platform, Tripadvisor bases its awards on genuine, first-hand reviews submitted over a 12-month period – making this a significant achievement and testament to the park as holidaymakers’ favourite destination.

Parkdean Resorts employs over 8,000 people across the UK and welcomes more than 3 million holidaymakers to its parks every year. As at August 2025, employees aged 16-24 represented 40% of Parkdean Resorts’ workforce, and 73% of employees live within 10 miles of their park or office.
