Parkdean Resorts, the UK’s leading holiday park operator, is celebrating the remarkable 20-year work anniversary of Jonny Campbell, General Manager at Whitley Bay Holiday Park in Northumberland.
Jonny, 44, began his journey with Parkdean Resorts at Breydon Water Holiday Park, Great Yarmouth, as a Complex Manager. His passion for the industry and drive for progression then led him to Cayton Bay Holiday Park, Yorkshire, in 2007, where he honed his skills before returning to his Northeastern roots with a promotion to General Manager of Whitley Bay in 2011.
As General Manager, Jonny wears many hats from social worker to life coach all while focusing on people and performance. Outside of work, Jonny enjoys spending time with his family, is a keen gym-goer, and has a big passion for music.
Reflecting on his 20 years of service, Jonny said: “I love being part of the holiday park industry. From pulling pints at 18 to now, I love the sense of belonging that comes with being part of a team. I believe that the industry offers so much in return for hard work and commitment – leaving school at 15 with no qualifications, I have secured myself a fantastic lifestyle and career path.
“I am proud to say that Parkdean Resorts has evolved into a modern business that is focused on social impact and the wellbeing of its team. I’ve never been tempted away – there’s nothing else quite like this.”
Lisa Charles-Jones, HR Director at Parkdean Resorts, said: “Our people are the heart of our business, and Jonny’s journey is a shining example of the opportunities and growth we offer. His leadership and dedication over the past 20 years has been truly inspiring.”
Parkdean Resorts is the UK’s leading holiday park operator, with 65 award-winning parks across the country, and five to choose from in Northumberland & County Durham – Cresswell Towers, Church Point, Sandy Bay, Whitley Bay and Crimdon Dene.
