Parkdean Resorts recently welcomed MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale, Tim Farron, to Fallbarrow Holiday Park.
The team gave Mr Farron a tour of the facilities at the park, and discussed how Parkdean Resorts is committed to caring for its parks, people, and planet to create a positive environmental impact on nature and resources.
Fallbarrow Holiday Park is one of four parks in the Lake District owned by Parkdean Resorts. Between them, Fallbarrow, Limefitt and White Cross Bay at Windermere, and Gatebeck, near Kendal, employ more than 210 people during the peak season and welcomed approximately 57,000 guests last year.
In 2022, the parks received a cash injection of more than £2.5m which went towards accommodation and facilities upgrades, improving the guest experience and ensuring holidaymakers keep coming back to the Lake District year after year, offering a boost to the local communities and businesses including shops, attractions, pubs and restaurants which rely heavily on tourism.
The park is also home to Fallbarrow Hall, a restored Grade II listed Victorian Gothic mansion which is the largest exclusive hire house in the Lake District. Parkdean Resorts recently announced that the mansion is now fully licensed for civil ceremonies, so couples can enjoy their special day overlooking one of the most scenic lakes in England.
Toby Durston, Regional Operations Director, Parkdean Resorts, said: “It was a pleasure to meet with Mr Farron and discuss how we can continue working together in the coming years. We showed Mr Farron around exactly two years ago just before the restoration work started at Fallbarrow Hall, so it was great to be able to show him around the newly renovated site.
“We’re proud of the role our parks play in supporting the local economy and look forward to working closely with Mr Farron to continue benefiting the constituency of Westmorland and Lonsdale.”
Tim Farron MP added: “It was wonderful to meet Toby and the rest of the team during my recent visit to Fallbarrow Holiday Park. Parkdean Resorts play a huge part in attracting visitors to the area, which in turn boosts tourism and supports our local economy.
“I was particularly pleased to hear about the park’s strong employee engagement, job satisfaction and retention rates and to tour the beautiful 18-bedroom mansion Fallbarrow Hall, now fully restored and the perfect location for events with its stunning backdrop of Lake Windermere.”
