Parkdean Resorts, a leading holiday park operator in the UK, announces its acquisition of Hanson European Caravan Transport Ltd, the UK’s leading specialist static caravan transport company.

Hanson offers a full, door-to-door delivery service of static caravans in the UK, and is the most experienced among its peer-set. The acquisition by Parkdean will facilitate the servicing of Parkdean Resorts’ 66 holiday parks around the UK and ensure a closer relationship between the two companies.

Following the acquisition, Hanson will not be integrated into Parkdean. It will keep its headquarters and operations in Beverley, Yorkshire and will continue to operate independently, serving existing clients across the UK.

Hanson’s founder and Managing Director, Gary Hanson will be retiring along with his wife Dawn Hanson after a six-month handover period once the sale has been completed. Paul Wadsworth, Director at Hanson, will take on the role of Managing Director, reporting to Lee Davison, Holiday Home Sales Commercial Director at Parkdean.

John McKenzie, Managing Director of Holiday Home Sales at Parkdean commented: “Hanson has been a valued partner of Parkdean Resorts for over 10 years, consistently delivering an important service for us and the wider holiday park and caravan industry. It is with great pride that we welcome Hanson to join Parkdean Resorts. That said, we intend to do all we can to address the vital skills shortage impacting the UK haulage industry, which in turn has a negative impact across so many sectors, including the hospitality.”

Paul Wadsworth, Director, Hanson: “Hanson is a local, family business and we are delighted to join Parkdean Resorts which respects and shares what we stand for as a business. We strongly value the hard work that our people put into our business, and while we are all sad to see Gary and Dawn go, we’re looking forward to a bright future with Parkdean.”
