Parkdean Resorts, the UK’s leading holiday park operator, recently welcomed Stuart McMillan, constituency MSP for Greenock & Inverclyde, to Wemyss Bay Holiday Park.

The team took Mr McMillan on a tour of the park’s facilities, where they discussed the park’s collaboration with local businesses and the range of career and personal development opportunities available at Wemyss Bay.

The visit also highlighted the introduction of Winter Wonderland at Wemyss Bay, with the park hosting Parkdean Resorts’ festive breaks for the first time this December. The seasonal offering will include a skating rink, festive concerts and pantomimes, and opportunities for families to meet Santa.

Parkdean Resorts is a key local employer in Inverclyde. This year in Parkdean Resorts’ annual Team Engagement Survey, 96% of employees at Wemyss Bay Holiday Park agreed with the statement “I am motivated to do my best work in my role” and 92% agreed with the statement “I would recommend Parkdean Resorts as a great place to work.”

Parkdean Resorts operates 65 award-winning parks across the UK, including three to choose from near Glasgow – Wemyss Bay, Sandylands and Sundrum Castle.

Mandy MacWhirter, General Manager at Wemyss Bay Holiday Park, said: “We’re proud of the contribution our parks make to the local economy, and we were pleased to share this firsthand with Mr McMillan during his recent visit. We’re excited about the opportunity to collaborate with him in the years ahead to continue supporting the local community.”

Stuart McMillan, MSP for Greenock & Inverclyde, added: “It was great to speak with Mandy to learn more about what Wemyss Bay Holiday Park has to offer – and how they’re always looking at new ways to provide holiday makers with a memorable experience.

“Tourism is vital to Inverclyde’s economy, and we need to do more to encourage people to consider holidaying in the area. Wemyss Bay Holiday Park provides excellent facilities and activities to suit all the family, and their engagement with other businesses locally is welcome.

“Their commitment to employing and supporting young people was also clear, which I warmly welcome.”
