Skipsea Sands Holiday Park in East Yorkshire and Thorness Bay Holiday Park on the Isle of Wight, both owned by Parkdean Resorts, are set to undergo multi-million pound transformations, featuring significant upgrades to on-park facilities, activities and retail offerings.

Following an £11 million investment, both parks will reopen next spring, boasting a range of new activities, including climbing experiences, indoor adventure golf and off-road driving for children aged four and over. Families will also benefit from expanded indoor and outdoor adventure play areas, high ropes, a bounce park, sports court, and a Bear Grylls themed escape room.

Skipsea Sands and Thorness Bay will become home to a brand-new sports bar, Hat-Tricks, featuring interactive darts, pool and shuffleboard, alongside a range of food and drink options.

As part of the makeovers, both parks will expand their food and drink offering with the addition of Scoops Ice Cream and Joe’s American Grill. Guests will also be able to enjoy a new outdoor entertainment and dining space, complete with bar facilities and outdoor seating.

The investment forms part of Parkdean Resorts' wider £70 million programme of upgrades across its holiday parks in 2027 and is set to boost tourism in both regions while also creating new jobs, including both permanent and seasonal roles.

Steve Richards, CEO at Parkdean Resorts, said: “We’re committed to investing in Skipsea Sands and Thorness Bay Holiday Parks, upgrading our accommodation and further enhancing the holiday experience for guests and owners in East Yorkshire and on the Isle of Wight. From exciting new activities that include adventure golf and high ropes to an enhanced food and drink offering, there will be even more for families and holidaymakers to enjoy. This investment reflects our continued commitment to supporting local jobs, tourism and economic growth in the communities where we operate. We look forward to welcoming guests to the newly enhanced Skipsea Sands and Thorness Bay from Easter 2027.”
