Beautiful surroundings, right on the beach. You really need a car for this location as the places to visit are miles away however. If you are happy to stay on site its great. Canny little parks for the kids. Restaurant and bar very clean and friendly staff. Things on for the kids which seemed good.
Main complaint was the swimming pool, the pool and slide were great, attendant shouted a few times (at other people)so much that my son became anxious. Also there were only two sets of showers and the mens was out of order, both were in the full view of the swimming pool, this was never mentioned before we got into the water and I just assumed they were the sanitary pre pool showers that most pools have. The shower thing was awful and embarrassing and my son is autistic and was completely freaked out by this. When i explained to the pool attendant he didn't seem to understand that my son had a disability and got distressed easily. I think it should be made clear to be people what facilities are available upon pool entry for the first time as my sons disability is a hidden one. A private shower or even a screen from the pool would make a huge difference. On leaving the pool we collected my husband from the cafe and when we returned to hand our bands back and get the entertainment passes back there was nobody at the reception which looks like the reception for the whole building. Various staff tried to help but the passes were locked away and eventually we were left with the promise of a call which never came so we had no entertainment passes for the evening and stayed in the caravan and had to go hunting for them the next day. As that had been the only evening we could attend the entertainment complex it was really annoying.

Hi Gary,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.

Please rest assured that your comments and recommendations on the swimming and shower areas will be passed over to the appropriate management teams for review. We really do value our guest’s comments, and we are always looking for ways on how we can improve.

We are sorry to hear that you were initially unable to retrieve your Entertainment passes, whilst we do have a reception area in the complex, we also have a main reception at the entrance of the park where staff are always happy to assist. Apologies if you were not able to contact the staff in this area in regards to this matter.

We do hope you will join us again at another of our 67 parks in the future.

Definitely recommend Southerness Holiday Park. We went with our two young boys, and they had a brilliant time there.

The Caravan was clean & spacious and there was a good amount to do.

I think going during school term time may have made it a better holiday for us due to the fact the pool only had between 8 & 10 people in it at any one time.

For the price we paid, I'd definitely think about going again!

We had a lovely family break with our 2 year old. Caravan was lovely and clean, had plenty of equipment needed only thing was the couch wasn't that comfortable. The park was clean and tidy. Softplay was good although too many parents didn't watch there kids and just sat in drinking whilst they ran around (they were older kids) who didn't mind the smaller kids and jumped over top of them my son ended up with a cut eye lid as 2 older kids climbed up the slide as he was going down. The swimming was really good. Value for money was excellent.

We didn't eat onsite as we went to nearby hotel for dinner and were out most of the days.

Looking forward to returning next year!!
