Swimming Pool Safety
Before you dive in, read the safety rules displayed around the pool. All of our pools are supervised by qualified lifeguards who are there for your safety, so follow their instructions.
Before entering the pool:
- Remove all jewellery
- Use the shower
Bear in mind, a responsible adult over 16 must accompany any children under 8. One adult must not accompany more than two children under 8.
When visiting Ruda, Trecco Bay or Warmwell, a maximum of one child under 4 can be supervised by one adult, or two children aged 4-7. Any more, and an additional adult will need to be present.
Benefits of Swimming
As well as swimming being great family fun, it comes with a whole host of health benefits too. With weight off your joints, it’s the perfect way to get some low-impact exercise – whether you’re doing lengths, treading water or attempting some aqua aerobics. Swimming is fantastic cardiovascular exercise and a great all-over body workout, so why not challenge yourself to a few lengths during your stay?
It’s also a known stress-buster too, making it the ideal way to ease yourself into the holiday spirit when you arrive on park. It’s also a great way for kids to burn off extra energy while gaining confidence in the water and even making some new friends on holiday. Our kids’ pool activities are designed to offer a range of fun sessions to cater to different ages and abilities, with something for everyone to enjoy.
Watersports Activities
Surfing
Many of our holiday parks in the South West are situated near some of the UK’s top surfing beaches – including Croyde Bay Beach, just steps from Ruda Holiday Park. With surfing lessons and equipment hire available at most beaches, it’s the perfect place to try and catch a wave!
Scuba Diving
Fancy trying something new? Why not try your hand at scuba diving! You’ll find a PADI dive centre at Sea Acres holiday park, and pool scuba sessions on offer at Lizard Point and Challaborough Bay. They’re ideal for beginners building confidence underwater.
