When is October half term 2025?

October half term dates vary from council to council, as well as between England, Wales and Scotland. Don’t miss out on an autumn break - add these dates to your diary! Don’t forget to check your local council’s website to find the correct dates for your area.

England October half term dates

● The majority of schools in England will break up on Friday 24th October - and return 1 week later on Monday 3rd November. Some schools, however, will break up a week earlier on Friday 17th October - returning on Monday 27th October.

Wales October half term dates

● All schools in Wales will break up on Friday 24th October - and return 1 week later on Monday 3rd November.

Scotland October half term dates

● In Scotland, the majority of schools will break up on Friday 10th October - returning 1 week later on Monday 20th October. However, some schools break up at the start of the month, on Friday 3rd October - returning on Monday 13th October.
