If you're driving from central London to the Essex Coast, expect the journey to take anywhere between 1h30 and 2 hours, depending on the traffic. The Essex Coast truly comes to life during the summer months. July and August in particular benefit from much warmer weather with temperatures reaching an average high of 23 degrees, however you'll find plenty going on during the school holidays throughout the year.
