When is May Half Term 2026?
May Half Term coincides with the spring bank holiday weekend, making it a great time of year for a short break or longer May Half Term holiday. Mark these dates in your diary to start planning your next getaway.
- England & Wales May Half Term dates
Schools across England and Wales will break up on Friday 22nd May - then return 1 week later, on Monday 1st June.
- Scotland May Half Term dates
Scotland does not have a May Half Term, due to their schools breaking up earlier for summer, however, Scottish schools will be closed for May Day on Monday 4th May, making for an extra-long 4-day weekend.
When is the Spring Bank Holiday?
Across England, Scotland and Wales, the spring bank holiday (also known as the ‘late May Bank Holiday’) falls on Monday 25th May - it’s the perfect weekend for a short break. Or if you can't wait to get away, there's always the early May Bank Holiday on Monday 5th May.
When are the May Bank Holidays 2026?
In 2025 the May Bank Holidays fall on Monday 4th May and Monday 25th May.
