How to get to Whitley Bay from Newcastle?

Getting to Whitley Bay from Newcastle upon Tyne's city centre is easy - with great road connections and public transport links.

If you're driving, take the A1058 (the 'Coast Road') heading east out of the city, which will take you to North Shields. From here, you can turn left, heading north onto either the A192 or A193, both of which will take you towards Whitley Bay.

Taking public transport to Whitley Bay is easy too, with Tyne & Wear's Metro service connecting the coast and the city. You'll find Metro stations at Monkseaton and Whitley Bay, both just a short walk from the centre of Whitley Bay and the seafront.

There are several bus services which run between Newcastle upon Tyne and Whitley Bay. The 308 and 309 bus services operate from Haymarket Bus Station in the city centre.
