Visit Truro

Cornwall’s capital, and only city, Truro, is a hub of commerce, culture and festivities. The standout attraction here is the magnificent cathedral at its centre. Dating back to the 19th-century, this Gothic Revival masterpiece features exquisite stone carvings and vast stained glass windows. It’s definitely a must-see! As is the Royal Cornwall Museum, which charts the history of the county with an eclectic mix of artefacts and historic treasures.

For shopping, you’ll find high street stores cosied up alongside boutiques and one-off independents, where you can browse unique gifts, stylish homeware and vintage fashion. Plus, there are two indoor markets and a weekly farmers’ market at Lemon Quay.

This small city also boasts a rich and varied dining scene that serves up classic Cornish dishes alongside all types of international cuisine. And don’t miss Skinner’s Brewery, a favourite spot to sample local award-winning ales.
