I cant wait to return to be honest as my whole family had a great time. I must mention that one of the highlights was the interaction between the staff and the guests during the music acts on an evening, people want to enjoy themselves on holiday and this certainly went a long way towards this, great work boathouse staff.

This was my first stay in the Lake District and White Cross Bay is well placed for a range of activities and for sightseeing.

The resort is conveniently located, a ten minutes walk from Brockhole where lots of family activities are available as well as the jetty for catching the cruise boat to the north of the lake.

A bus stop is just outside the resort but you need to be prepared to do some touring to make the cost of the bus worth your while. The cheapest fare for a 10 minute ride (return) from White Cross Bay to Bowness for one adult and two children was £23, a touring ticket.

I booked almost all of my family's activities in advance, browsing the net to see what was available. My son enjoyed the outdoor play area for football and basketball. It's not floodlit so he was disappointed one evening when the boys were told by a member of staff to leave.

Midweek Entertainment wasn't great quality but it's suitable for the whole family. Live singing acts at the weekend and a film showing of Peter Rabbit were more entertaining at the weekend.

Staff at the resort are quick to respond and friendly.
