Poor accomodation given £1000 paid for 7 days although alternative lodge given could not access to day 2 of holiday . Swimming pool too small and had to book for 45 minute session ! Poor range of kids activities and also those available in hugh season carried a charge even pool party!! Facilities cannot accommodate size of park . Clubhouse too small. Very disappointing. Lake District nice place to visit but expensive - 4 days enough .

Our accommodation was lovely and staff were very friendly and helpful. There was lots to do around the site but very little for the kids within the site, especially at night. Any kid friendly entertainment was over by 6.30 and the on site park was so small. We would go back to the area but would look for a site that was more vibrant.

White cross bay Location is lovely 😊. Our Lodge was poor and I was actually disgusted by how dirty it was. Toliet in our bedroom had poo on it still, food under sofa cushions, our shower you couldn’t move in it to wash, there was mould on the bottom of shower and still old soap pieces on shower soap holder. We had to turn our fridge up to max to get it to keep our food and drinks cool. The Tv kept turning its self off, when we changed the channel or turned the volume up or down or just on its own. Went to use the dishwasher and it broke first use. We could not use the out door furniture as it was so filthy. And my son couldn’t sleep in his bed as it was so uncomfortable he ended up sleeping on the sofa for a few nights, really not happy. We also had problems to with our mattress to springs poking us!!! The lodge may look nice, but there is some real issues there!! We was so disappointed with our lodge after paying all that money for it!!

My family and I have stayed at Parkdean holiday parks for many years, usually Whitley Bay as well as Highfield Grange, California Cliffs and South View. White Cross Bay is definitely the nicest one we've stayed at. Our group spanned four generations and a dog. We stayed in two caravans, The Elter and The Bassenthwaite. The Bassenthwaite exceeded our expectations as that was the one we were able to bring a dog. We were close to a wooded area which was excellent for dogs. However we did note that many other dog walkers were not cleaning up after their dogs.
Both caravans were very clean. The cot and high chair we had hired were there on arrival and we did know to bring our own cot mattress as I had read that on a previous review.
The Bassenthwaite kitchen did not have enough dishes, cups or pyrex dishes which I know is usually supplied. The pans were in poor condition too. We had to request bedding for the sofabed for both caravans. The night security man called Carl was very good but was unable to provide a duvet on the first night. I reported these issues to reception the following morning. We were supplied with crockery that day but still no further bedding and again had to enlist the help of Carl who remembered me from the previous evening. He was most helpful and provided everything we required.
Both caravans were supposed to include vacuum cleaners, The Elter did not have one and The Bassenthwaite had one which did not work and there was no plug or charging unit available. I also reported this to reception yet no further action was taken.
