With 67 holiday parks up and down the UK, we’re confident that we have a family holiday to suit everyone’s tastes. From kids’ clubs and family entertainment for the little ones, to daring high ropes courses and kayaking for the big kids - we’ve got you covered! We know that the most important part of your time holidaying with us is spending quality time together as a family and getting the chance to participate in some memorable activities on top of this is the icing on the cake! So we’ve put together a guide highlighting some of our favourites to help you decide which family activity holiday is the right one for you.
Types of activities for the family
Fun for the little ones
A big part of what we offer at Parkdean Resorts is a range of activities that are tailored specifically to meet the needs of family members of different ages. For our littlest adventurers, we’ve developed our tots’ activities which include Active Tots, Bike Tots and Gym Tots. All of these tots’ activities have been specially designed to help the little ones build up their confidence and coordination and let them explore in a safe setting. They also won’t feel left out if they spot their older siblings taking part in activities such as archery and fencing, as we’ve safely adapted them so they can have a go too.
Fun for all the family
Across all of our holiday parks you’ll find a wonderful selection of entertainment and plenty of activities you can take part in together as a family. Hire out one of our fun family karts and check out the sights together as you tour the park. Available for one, two or four people, these karts are pedal powered so you can go at your own speed! Spend some quality time together outdoors as part of our outdoor activities programme which is packed with family fun. You can create your very own nature diary together and observe some of the fascinating wildlife around you. Or figure out and follow the clues and you just might find something special on our treasure hunt.
We’ve invested heavily to make sure that our facilities are top notch and give you the best holiday experience. The majority of our holiday parks have an indoor or outdoor pool on site so you and your family can take a relaxing dip, or an energetic splash around! We also host plenty of swimming pool activities with everything you’d expect including inflatables, floats and pool toys. If you’re feeling adventurous we also offer paddle boards, aqua jets and kayaks at selected parks. Don’t forget to ask about the pool timetable when you arrive for more information.
Most popular destinations for kids’ activities
Vauxhall Holiday Park, Norfolk
Vauxhall is a firm favourite amongst our guests who have children of all ages because there is so much to get up to just on park. One of Vauxhall’s standout activities has to be the outdoor splash zone - complete with exciting slides and jets, this is a perfect spot to head first on your activity holiday. If you’d prefer to stay on dry land then you can experience the delights of the jungle-themed mini golf course or treehouse playground. We’ve got your evening entertainment sorted in the V-Arena where we host fantastic live entertainment every day.
The fun doesn’t stop there because Vauxhall is ideally located close to Great Yarmouth for plenty more family fun. You can explore the stunning Norfolk Broads, whether it's one of the countless riverside walks or jumping into something more adventurous like sailing or canoeing.
Ty Mawr Holiday Park, Wales
We’ve extensively developed the activity programme at Ty Mawr in 2020 to help you get the most out of your holiday. Come rain or shine the brand new Virtual Reality experience is a great activity to do as a family - strap in and be prepared for lots of interactive games that’ll transport you to another world! If you’re not afraid of heights or want to conquer your fears, don the safety gear and challenge yourself to navigate the new high ropes course. We’ve even developed activities for your pup so that they don’t miss out on all the fun. Spend some quality time together and work on their agility crossing the obstacles in the Woof play park.
At Ty Mawr you’ll find there’s also plenty to explore on your doorstep - with a beach nearby you can head out for walks or take a dip in the ocean. You can also venture to nearby Llandudno, a charming Victorian seaside resort packed with delights to discover.
Warmwell Holiday Park, Dorset
Aside from being a picturesque woodland escape, Warmwell is also a park jam-packed with fantastic facilities to take your activity holiday to the next level. Warmwell is home to one of the UK’s very best dry ski slopes and there’s something for every age and ability. There are also plenty of other adrenaline-fuelled activities to get stuck into, whether it’s exploring the high ropes course or laser tag. If you’re looking for something a little less daring, you can take a dip in the heated indoor pool or teach the little ones how to fish in one of Warmwell’s amazing fishing lakes.
So much awaits you to experience off the park too - venture out to discover more things to do in Dorset, including the nearby Jurassic Coast and incredible sights like Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove.
Trecco Bay Holiday Park, Wales
It’s no secret that Trecco Bay is one of the UK’s best holiday parks and packed with amazing activities to make your holiday a memorable one. There’s something for all ages at Trecco so get involved or sit back and relax, the choice is yours! If it’s a thrill you’re after, you can make the most of the unique outdoor wet play area, crazy golf, or head inside to the bright lights of Funtasia which houses a bowling alley, arcade and much more. The fantastic indoor Splashland is there for you to enjoy, whatever the weather, and to play pirates!
Nearby, the seaside town of Porthcawl has everything you’d come to expect from a traditional coastal resort, with even more amusement arcades and Blue Flag beaches.
