That being said, we know it’s nice to venture off park every now and then and treat yourself to a meal out. There’s nothing worse than being on holiday and not knowing where to eat, which is why our Parkdean cuisine experts have done some research and all important taste tests. We’ve put together a list of the best restaurants that Great Yarmouth has to offer from delicious Indian restaurants to lovely cafés on the promenade.

Best Family Restaurant, Great Yarmouth

As far as family restaurants go in Great Yarmouth, this one is certainly the most welcoming and friendly. On the menu at The Alexandra, there’s everything from grilled meats to pasta and seafood. The fun and lively atmosphere, helped by the friendly staff, makes this a great choice for families with children. Little ones will love the kids’ menu, serving up delicious options including chicken gyros and calamari and chips, while vegetarian and gluten free dishes are ideal for those with dietary requirements. Pando offers gourmet Chinese dishes at a fair price in Great Yarmouth and is extremely popular. It’s located in the heart of the town centre and very close to our Great Yarmouth holiday parks. This place offers a takeaway option too and the menu consists of Chinese, Thai and Pan Asian food. On the menu, you can expect to see dishes such as chicken curry, salt and chilli chicken and beef in black pepper sauce. They offer a range of dishes suitable for vegetarians too including salt and chilli tofu. This family friendly restaurant offers a variety of kids’ meals and it’s popular with the locals which is always a great sign!

 

The Lion

Best Burger Restaurant, Great Yarmouth

If you’re looking for an outstanding burger, we think this place is worth travelling slightly further for as it offers the best burgers in Great Yarmouth. The Lion is closest to California Cliffs and Summerfields Holiday Parks and is around a 20 minute drive away. They offer vegetarian and vegan options as well as gluten free food and they are accommodating to families with children, offering a variety of food options for kids. Their lovely outdoor seating area is ideal for when the sun’s shining, especially if you’ve got your dog with you. As far as the menu goes they have outstanding burgers including a tasty southern fried chicken burger with chilli jam and the famous Lion Burger.

If you’re looking for fabulous fish and chips then look no further than Café Ocean. They serve great quality fish and chips and have a lovely outdoor seating area overlooking the promenade. The location is great being right by the pleasure beach and just 6 minutes away from Vauxhall Holiday Park. This place does meatless options and also has a children’s menu with some great options for kids.

 

The Kings Arms

Best Dog Friendly Restaurant in Great Yarmouth

The Kings Arms offers lovely pub food at a great price – and it’s good news for dog owners as your four-legged friends are welcomed here too! It’s got a wonderful beer garden area and a great menu offering all the pub favourites here including pies, burgers, sausage and mash, mixed grill and fish and chips. They also do a great ‘3 bar bites for £10’ deal if you’re just stopping by for a snack. On the kids’ menu you can expect dishes such as chicken nuggets, fish fingers and pizza. They’ve got plenty of vegetarian options too including a veggie burger, a vegan Mediterranean vegetable tart and a vegetable lasagne. This dog friendly restaurant is a stone’s throw from Vauxhall Holiday Park.

Charlie’s Tapas is a great place to visit if you’re looking for some great quality vegan food or if you just love Spanish tapas. This affordable, quirky restaurant serves small tapas plates with lots of options for vegans and vegetarians, as well as serving gluten free options. Vegan tapas dishes include patatas bravas, Mediterranean rice, garlic mushrooms, nachos and asparagus cooked with garlic. It costs just £12 for 3 tapas dishes and it’s great value for money. Located right in the town centre of Great Yarmouth, the restaurant is just a 10 minute drive from both Cherry Tree and Vauxhall Holiday Park. Children are welcomed here too and the small plates are perfect for feeding small mouths.
