Organising the perfect touring route can be a challenge - trying to combine picturesque scenery with activities to suit the whole family is no easy feat! We’re here with another of our varied touring routes to help you create some amazing memories.

The Soulful Shores of Yorkshire, North East England and Southern Scotland have it all – your jaw will drop when you see the rugged natural scenery and exquisite beaches across each region. There’s plenty to keep you occupied too, with castles and ancient structures with grand histories to delve into, as well as market towns where you can sample fresh local produce and mix with the friendly, welcoming locals.

The Soulful Shore

Your journey starts by heading to our Skipsea Sands Holiday Park, just south of Bridlington in Yorkshire. This peaceful resort is attached to the small seaside town of Skipsea and sits a gentle walk away from the beach and the North Sea. The immediate area around the town boasts the remains of a Norman Motte and Bailey Castle and has a number of relaxing country walks.

Crimdon Dene Holiday Park in County Durham is your next destination and as well as the beautiful beach that sits next to the park, it’s a region with plenty to offer. Nearby Hartlepool boasts a fascinating maritime museum and historic quay that forms the centrepiece of their modern marina. You could also head into Durham City and you’ll marvel at Durham Cathedral - the 900 year old structure that nestles on the hillside above the banks of the River Wear.

The last leg of your journey will take you to Eyemouth Holiday Park, situated on a cliff overlooking the gorgeous south east Scottish shoreline, offering calm scenic views that sit in stark contrast with the jagged and dramatic rocks of Killiedraught Bay to the North. Eyemouth is also home to an 18-hole golf course, so you can enjoy spectacular clifftop views, while enjoying a relaxing round of golf.

Activities

Natural Beauty – If you’re looking for yet more scenic sights, taking a detour into the North York Moors is well worth your time. You’ll find yourself in awe as you journey into an area of breathtaking scenery that encompasses 554 square miles of vibrant green countryside, with rustic villages set into rolling hills and a teeming wildlife population.

Fang-tastic seaside tours - Whitby (North Yorkshire) is a classic British seaside resort, but its light-hearted fascination with Bram Stoker’s Dracula means you can join one of a variety of guided walks and tours that take in the gothic architecture that inspired the author to create his most famous work. Sure to keep the kids entertained!

Ancient Sights – Northumberland is home to some wonderful man-made structures that perfectly complement its rugged natural beauty. Take a visit to Bamburgh Castle - this rebuilt structure used to be the seat of Northumbrian kings and sits yards away from the sea, offering you the chance to see one of Britain’s finest views. Hadrian’s Wall too is a sight worth visiting, as you can trek for miles atop what’s left of the ancient Roman wall.

Sports & Leisure – If you have a little excess energy to burn off, why not try one of our all-weather sports courts, or indoor pools to be found on park (with the exception of Eyemouth – the pool there is a 3 minute walk away).
