If you’re looking to enjoy all of the wonderful attractions of a beachside holiday, minus the cost and hassle associated with travelling abroad, then look no further than Parkdean Resorts. Our beach resorts appear to be trending at the moment, with online searches for beachside holidays increasing by a massive 70% in comparison to last year! Since our holiday lovers can’t seem to get enough of the coast, we thought we’d help make choosing the perfect location a little easier. To help you decide which of our beachside resorts is best suited to you, we’ve put together a handy guide to seven of the UK’s best beachside holiday parks.

1. Ruda Holiday Park, North Devon

Only a stroll over the dunes from Croyde Bay Beach, Ruda Holiday Park is located in a prime spot along the North Devon Coast. Offering sandy dunes, RNLI lifeguard service from May to September, and often voted amongst the best surfing beaches in the world, Croyde Bay is not one to miss out on. If surfing’s not for you, you’ll find a whole host of nearby attractions and activities on offer - why not get your adrenaline pumping with coasteering along Devon’s iconic coastline?

Away from the beach and back at Ruda Holiday Park, you can enjoy fantastic facilities available throughout your stay, from making a splash in the indoor pool, with its very own water slide, to relaxing at the beach cafe or running wild on the fun-filled adventure playground. After all that excitement, tuck into some tasty dining options including The Coast Bar & Kitchen, Al Largo Italian restaurant - or head back to your accommodation for a night in with some fish and chips.

2. Ocean Edge Holiday Park, Morecambe

Situated just a short drive from Ocean Edge Holiday Park is the beautiful Morecambe Bay. As the second largest bay in Britain, its sandy shores cover a staggering 120 square miles at low tide and are home to some spectacular wildlife. Morecambe Bay has something for everyone, whether you fancy sitting back and relaxing on the soft golden sand, exploring the rockpools and local marine life or watching the wading birds and seals dance along the shore from the lively promenade. To complete this perfect day out, the coastline is home to a range of lovely cafes, restaurants and shops, along with exciting arcades and, of course, not forgetting the famous Eric Morecambe statue.

Back on park the holiday continues with fantastic facilities for all the family - including a heated indoor pool, adventure playground for the little ones and a tasty restaurant and takeaway to name a few. Once the excitement of the day draws to a close, take in one of Ocean Edge’s famous sunsets lighting up the sky over the Irish Sea, perfect to enjoy with a drink before heading over to the Showbar for some electrifying evening entertainment.

 

3. Cayton Bay Holiday Park, Near Scarborough

We couldn’t have a beachside holiday park guide without including sunny Scarborough on Yorkshire’s magnificent coastline, just a short drive from Cayton Bay Holiday Park. While Scarborough Beach offers plenty of classic seaside fare and attractions, from donkey rides to boat trips and amusements, the area’s real hidden gem is just a short stroll from Cayton Bay Holiday Park. Cayton Bay Beach is a spectacular, sweeping and secluded cove - with warm golden sand and shallow waters - ideal for swimming and surfing.

Plus back on the park, you’ll find plenty of things to keep you occupied on your beachside break. Come back to Cayton Bay in 2021 and discover what’s new. From an epic high ropes course to a new sports dome - keeping active kids busy won’t be a problem. Why not get creative in the new Arts & Crafts Den, or tuck in to an al fresco lunch under the brand new outdoor canopy? And when it comes to evening entertainment, Cayton Bay’s got you covered. Dine out at The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant before taking in the entertainment at the Showbar.

 

4. Nairn Lochloy Holiday Park, Near Inverness

When it comes to beachside holiday parks, the beach doesn’t get much closer than Nairn, on Scotland’s north coast - at the foot of the beautiful Highlands. With Nairn Lochloy Holiday Park located directly behind the dunes of Nairn’s East Beach, you’re just steps from having your toes in the sand and enjoying the breathtaking views across the Moray Firth to the Black Isles. Nairn’s climate is perfect for windsurfers, kite surfers and swimmers alike. The crystal waters are also home to local dolphins which can be spotted cutting majestically through the waves. Why not get a better view by heading out on one of the local sightseeing boat trips, just one of the area’s many local attractions.

Back on Nairn Lochloy Holiday Park, there’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Chill out with a swim in the indoor pool followed by a relaxing sauna session, challenge friends and family to a game of crazy golf or stretch your legs on our wildlife nature trail. After a fun-filled day, head to Spelding’s Lounge Bar to tuck into their delicious dishes and impressive range of drinks.

 

5. Trecco Bay Holiday Park, Porthcawl

If you’re looking for a classic seaside break, look no further than Trecco Bay Beach on the South Wales Coast. Just steps from your caravan, this Blue Flag winning beach is perfect for a bucket and spade holiday - with exceptionally clean waters. Build sandcastles on the fine golden shore, or explore the rock pools at low tide to discover the colourful critters and marine life in the shallows. If you fancy stretching your legs, stroll along into the neighbouring Sandy Bay Beach and onto the seaside town of Porthcawl beyond.

When it comes to entertainment and activities on park, nowhere does it better than Trecco Bay Holiday Park. As one of the UK’s largest holiday parks, there’s an array of options - with something for the whole family to enjoy. The large indoor pool complex has slides, kids pools and even a pirate ship! After you’ve dried off, check out some of the brand new activities on offer, including a thrilling high ropes course, Arts & Crafts Den and outdoor climbing wall. Teenagers will love the gaming room and virtual reality arcade - packed with the latest tech, it’s ideal for a rainy day. After a fun filled outing, unwind with a meal in the restaurant or take a pizza back to your accommodation from the park’s very own Papa John’s takeaway.

 

6. Crantock Beach Holiday Park, near Newquay

Cornwall is home to some of the best surfing conditions in the world and attracts thousands of surfers every year. If you’re up for riding the waves, visit the Newquay Activity Centre where they can show you the ropes!

If the kids love animals, then be sure to visit neighbouring Africa Alive where they can meet all of their safari favourites, including lions!
