Lovely short break. Caravan a tad tired but spotlessly clean. We have standard poodles and were expecting to be restricted as to where we could take them (Particularly in November) We were pleasantly surprised not only were we close to the beach but on site were 2 dog areas where they could run off some energy and we could take them and eat or have a G&T in the covered heated bar area. What's not to like.

We recently stayed at cayton bay. The resort was excellent and every staff member we came across were friendly, helpful and easy to deal with. However the caravan was pretty dirty. The floors were disgusting and the bedding smelt bad.

Contactless check in was easy but majorly flawed in the fact that when we arrived back after a night at the restaurant somebody else had checked into our caravan too leaving us with nowhere to go with young children at midnight! We had already been in the caravan and locked it up on arrival, luckily we hadn't left any of our belongings in there!

We called security who quickly found us another caravan but it was not of the same quality and smelt strongly of dogs and smoke and was nowhere near as clean as our original one.

Waited the next morning for reception to contact us but by lunchtime nobody had so I went down and they weren't aware we had even moved. Reception organised for the caravan to be cleaned whilst we were out but this never happened.

We also wish it had been made clearer that as the end of the season approaches most activities aren't open, the shop was empty and the food menu was very limited.

The beach is very close by (in walking distance) which was a positive and the swimming pool is perfect for younger children.

Overall not an awful stay but not the quality we expected
