Vicki

HertfordshireGBA family with children
Sadly I can't say we had a good time because we didn't. It was our first holiday in over 7 and a half years due to having a child with multiple medical issues who is in and out of hospital. We had already lost a day, which was down to a medical emergency our end and so once we were on our way we were all super excited. I upgraded a couple of weeks before our holiday, so we were even more excited. We understood it was probably coming to the end of season, but nothing was mentioned that it would infact be a ghost site! We were literally the only ppl on the first night and music was played and that was it! On the second and third night 6 or 7 people popped in and within 30 mins they simply left as it was just dead! My youngest managed to go swimming once (each time we had tried before it was shut!) and yep the pool was also completely empty! We understood the site had no control over the rain the previous week and the slight drizzle we had that week, but the mud was horrendous and all we dealt with was a continous barrage of mud everywhere, which got to us all as it was like camping in a field and being unable to escape it even inside!
Upon arrival and opening up our upgraded accomodation, all we could smell was pee, which wasn't a nice greeting! I tried to clean and freshen the place up, I even cleaned out the thick stodge from the sink overflow (mould and old food) which was grim! Sadly the lingering of the pee was always there, as was the stale stagnant smell of tons of previous visitors and in all honesty it needed a very deep clean, which I felt was unfair for us to deal with, even if it was almost at the end of the season, it should still be clean and fresh! When I upgraded I informed the guy of two in our family who had mobility issues and was assured we were close to where the entertainment was (or lack there of should I say) but nope we weren't! So those family members had to be driven to the area.
The effort of packing for 6 people, buying new clothes for what should have been nights out full of fun, the 2+ hrs of travelling there and the money that was wasted, not feeling clean, along with having upset children was heartbreaking for me!

Hi Vicki,

Thank you for taking the time to complete your review today.

We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at Coopers Beach and your comments especially on your holiday home are concerning to read.

Whilst holiday homes do see wear and tear throughout the season, we aim to clean all accommodations to an immaculate standard and your comfort should not be compromised. We are very sorry if you felt this was not the case.

This is definitely not the usual standards you can expect from Parkdean Resorts, even at the end of the season, and we will take this time to share your feedback with the on-park management team for internal review.

I have stayed with park dean many times and so far this is the best place we have ever stayed. The staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing is to much trouble. The entertainment is incredible and the place is extremely clean. We will be returning next year and I would recommend this place to families.
