We arrived at Withernsea sands and couldn't find our caravan because there was no sign in the entrance of the park telling you where any of the caravans are so we had to drive around the whole site until we eventually found our caravan. We let ourselves in the caravan which was already unlocked and we could smell cigarette smoke as soon as we entered the caravan. There was no welcome pack or passes just the caravan key on the table. The caravan wasn't very clean at all and one of the single bedrooms had an awful smell to it. All the curtains were hanging off the rails, two of which actually completely fell down when we tried to close them at night. The inside of the cooker was disgusting. The light in the single toilet didn't work at all, the blind in the bathroom window broke when we tried to roll it down. All the radiators were thick with dust which was hanging out of the bottom of them, the sofa was really hard to sit on. The caravan that I hired was described as spacious on the website and the photo of the double bedroom showed that you could walk the whole way around the bedroom as it was supposed to be really big, this however certainly was not the case, we couldn't get into the double bed unless we climbed in from the bottom because the bedroom was so small meaning there was no room around the bed. The upholstery on the sofa was stained and some of the bedding wasn't clean either. The cupboard door on the boiler cupboard wasn't hung properly so when we opened it it got stuck on the vinyl flooring and ripped it quiet badly. I reported all the issues at the reception desk and they didn't seem bothered at all, they said they would send the maintenance team to our caravan straight away, we actually sat over an hour waiting for them to arrive and when we did finally get a knock on the door it was a young lad stood there holding nothing but a scouring pad and a spray bottle, he put one of the curtains back up on the rail and held it up with a piece of blue tack so that it wouldn't fall down again. We went to the on site restaurant Saturday night for the entertainment and we were all crammed in, the bar restaurant was heaving with people, there was no social distancing at all. The menu in the restaurant is very overpriced for what they actually serve, they don't cater for coeliacs very well at all and most of the food on the menu was out of stock. The bar actually completely ran out of all alcohol and soft drinks because they hadn't catered or considered how busy they was going to be considering it was Halloween weekend and the caravan site was fully booked. The toilets in the entertainment complex were absolutely disgusting and had no toilet roll in them the majority of the weekend. The amusement arcade on site is rubbish and most of the game machines don't work but they take your money.
When it came to leaving the caravan we were told to leave the key on the table inside the caravan and to send a text to a mobile number telling them that we had checked out which I did and I didn't even get a reply.
