Our Bear Grylls Survival Academy activity went down a treat this year and we hope you enjoyed the adventure as much as we did! Brand new for 2021, it will be available across more of our holiday parks!
Bear Grylls Survival Academy gives kids the chance to explore the great outdoors and through a series of activities that teach Kids how to survive in the wild.
The session content has been designed by Bear to ensure all priorities are delivered exactly how he would do it himself. The sessions are led by trained instructors trained by Bear.
Please note charges apply for this activity.
You can now pre-book your activities online! To secure your first choice of activities, simply log into 'My Booking' up to 2 weeks prior to travel. Or head to reception once you arrive on park to book.
So, you're in a spot of trouble...
Well, you aren't the first and you sure won't be the last. Ok, first things first: relax. Take a deep breath, keep a clear head and get your priorities right. Think before you act.
The phrase I use to remind myself is:
Please Remember What's First: PROTECTION, RESCUE, WATER and FOOD.
These are the absolute basics you need to survive. And survival needs to become your number one goal.
Survival Academy Activities
Whether they’re constructing a shelter from raw materials or learning how to camouflage themselves to avoid being seen, they’ll discover all the basics on how to stay protected out in the wild. They’ll even be tested on how to put up a tent!
From building a fire and sending smoke signals using only natural resources to administering first aid to a team mate in need, find out all there is to know about rescue. Plus learn the all-important technique of how to navigate through darkness.
An absolute essential when it comes to surviving out in the wilderness, they’ll find out all about how to filter and purify dirty water to make it suitable for drinking - just like Bear Grylls when he's in an emergency survival situation.
Will they have what it takes to survive on nothing but natural means found in the wild? The Edibles vs. Deadibles challenge will get them foraging for food before putting their culinary skills to the test and cooking a meal over an open fire.
The activity will cost £10 per session.
Each session will run for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
The activity is now available at the following holiday parks on selected dates:
- Nodes Point
- Camber Sands
- Ty Mawr
- Lizard Point
- Trecco Bay
- Cayton Bay
Bear Grylls Survival Academy is suitable for children 8 years or older. Please note, you must be a guest staying on park to book and participate in the activities.
Bear Grylls won’t be on park or running the activities. However, his team of highly trained instructors have just what it takes to teach you practical skills that will allow you to survive in the wilderness like Bear.
