About Newquay

Newquay captures everything you’d want from a Cornish holiday. Its 11 beaches are golden and soft, its waves are fast, hollow and perfect for surfing and the laid-back atmosphere here provides a really refreshing change of pace. With trendy dining and shopping too, it’s no wonder Newquay’s beloved by the nation.

The town is first and foremost a beach destination, and with so many to choose from you’ll have no problem finding one that’s just right for you, whether that’s calm and secluded Lusty Glaze or lively Fistral.

Residents like Susan, also say there's plenty of must see local attractions in Newquay to keep the whole family entertained “We've got a few iconic things like the old Huer’s Hut which is the oldest building here.”

After a day out exploring or spent on the beach, there's also a variety of fantastic local breweries and bars in Newquay, perfect for an evening tipple. According to another local Cornish resident, Amy, “Lots of microbreweries are setting up. You will find them dotted around quite a lot now."

You can take your pick of surf schools too, there are over a dozen here who’ll help you master Newquay’s world-famous waves, and some offer the chance to go coasteering, kayaking and stand up paddleboarding.

Away from the sands, visit Newquay Zoo, a sanctuary for over 1,000 animals, including lions, penguins and meerkats. While Blue Reef Aquarium lets you meet loggerhead turtles and sharks!
