About Bridport

Once the centre of Britain’s rope-making industry, the handsome historic town of Bridport is now a hub for events, festivals and shopping. Each week, over a hundred traders flock to the town’s traditional market, giving you the chance to browse unique, high-quality stalls selling everything from antiques to fresh seasonal produce.

There’s also a thriving arts community here. The Bridport Arts Centre is a focal point for theatre, film, music and comedy and hosts regularly updated exhibitions from local and international artists. There’s a fine selection of private galleries to explore throughout the town and the vintage Electric Palace features a range of cinematic and live performances too.

The rolling hills, meadows and big sky views of the Dorset AONB lie on Bridport’s doorstep, and the Jurassic Coast is just two miles away! Head to West Bay to witness its famous russet-hued cliffs, admire harbour views and play on a beautiful beach.
