About The Isle of Arran

For such a wee island, Arran sure does pack in the attractions! Mountains, beaches, meadows, moorlands, Arran’s scenery is dramatically diverse and home to otters, golden eagles and red deer. There’s history too, everything from ancient stone circles to exquisite Victorian country homes.

While Arran might feel like a world away, getting here is surprisingly easy, with regular ferries from the mainland year-round. And once you’re here you can take your pick of adventures!

You can be active, hiking through forests, playing golf at one of seven scenic courses or kayaking along the Firth of Clyde. Or you can take things slowly, as you gently browse little boutiques selling fresh, local produce and handcrafted goods or savour a dram of malt whisky at Arran Distillery.

But whatever you choose to do, make sure you take the time to sit down, catch your breath and breathe in those heavenly big sky views.
