About Aberystwyth

For a seaside resort with added charm, visit Aberystwyth. The Victorians loved it, blessing the town with striking gothic architecture, a pier and a graceful mile-long promenade.

To get your bearings, and enjoy epic panoramas, ride the tremendous cliff railway to the top of Constitution Hill. The Camera Obscura here (the world’s largest) provides you with a unique perspective on Aberystwyth’s sandy bay, castle and the magnificent rolling hills beyond. On summer evenings, you’ll spot the town’s renowned starling murmurations too.

Back at ground level, take a wander through the university town’s colourfully painted streets and discover everything from glitzy cocktail bars and chic boutiques to traditional arcades and fish and chip bars.

There’s history here too. The National Library of Wales houses millions of books, maps and manuscripts and has engaging and diverse exhibitions. While the excellent Ceredigion Museum offers insights into the region’s heritage.
